[dm-crypt] LUKS is written to a device with no partition table. Is it possible to add a partition table?

Joe also has 12 TB of storage space available, and has already shrunk
the btrfs file system to 4 TiB. I think a plausible argument can be
made that there is room for two copies of the data.
